This is a video where I show all of the things that I got in Amman. I do apologise that this video is a little shaky and choppy, I broke my tripod so I need to get a new one!
I hope you like this one and as ever, please do leave any suggestions of what you want to see on my channel. I am currently in America and I will be posting a lot of things from here.
Hey everyone, don’t forget to check out my latest Collective Haul! I talk about the clothes and make up that I got from Topshop, Primark, ASOS, MAC and other shops.
Every 6 months I see images on social media tagged #NYFW or #LFW etc. obviously knowing that these hashtags stand for “New York Fashion Week” or “London Fashion Week”. I also know that Paris Fashion Week comes straight after Milan, which follows London, but why are these dates so special? As embarrassing as it is to admit this, for a long time I didn’t understand what a fashion week was and for those of you who biannually find yourself in the same situation , here is the answer:
A fashion week is the time when the fashion industry stages runway shows for designers, brands or ‘houses’ to display their latest collections. The media takes a big part in this, spreading the word of what’s ‘in’ and ‘out’ of the upcoming season. So currently London Fashion Week is taking place and it will be ending on the 24th of February. Designers, old and new, are showing off their AW15 collections.
It’s important to note that fashion weeks have been around for a long time, with the first fashion week being held back in 1945. Americans felt that they relied too much on the French fashion industry for inspiration and as travel was limited in the time of war, New York held its first fashion week. Back then, it was called “Press Week” and it showcased American designers for the first time. From then on, Vogue started featuring more and more American designers and that is how the whole concept went international.
